Nave is Waldorf’s latest foray into Wavetable Synthesis, developed by chief engineer Stefan Stenzel, NLog creator Rolf Wöhrmann, and Design Specialist Axel Hartmann.

The Nave synthesizer engine introduces two innovative Wavetable oscillators, setting a new standard in wavetable synthesis. It allows for independent transposition of a sound's spectrum from its pitch. The oscillators render waves periodically to noise, enabling easy reproduction of sounds emphasizing formants and even integrating a speech synthesizer for simple wavetable creation.

The user-friendly interface of Nave caters to both beginners and experts, with the iPad providing ample space for Wavetable creation and editing. Aside from Speech Synthesis, new Wavetables can be crafted by analyzing audio files. Further manipulation such as stretching, rotating, and spectral shifting of Wavetables allows for enhanced refinement or distortion.

Featuring all factory Wavetables from Microwave, Wave, and Blofeld, Nave also includes new ones that fully leverage the improved capabilities. In addition to the groundbreaking Wavetable Oscillators, Nave boasts an oscillator module introducing Überwave technology to enhance sound with up to eight detuned oscillators.

The filter section guarantees the exceptional Waldorf sound quality with lowpass, bandpass, and highpass options at either 12dB or 24dB slope. The Drive section offers various characteristics and flexible positioning in the signal path for creating anything from aggressive overdriven tones to delicate Wavetable sweeps.

An extensive modulation matrix and a range of real-time controls enable users to animate Nave sounds in any desired direction. Adding versatility, Nave allows playing with “Blades” for dynamic polyphonic modulation triggered by sliding fingers in x or y directions.

Composing with Nave is further elevated by a 4-track recorder for crafting songs or sketching musical ideas inspired by the eclectic sounds of Nave.
